I don't think hosting a regional every year is a reasonable expectation. Now you could argue we should expect to make a regional every year.

Again some posters will not be happy no matter what and some poster will be happy no matter what.

So ignore the two extremes and sit back and watch what happens, cause we have no clue with first year coach with a bunch of new players.

That's exactly how it needs to change - especially when recruiting position players. Biggest mistake in recruiting over past years has been recruiting position players from small HS programs that were not ready for SEC pitching.

Looks like they did have recruits in for the 'bama beat down. I suspect there will be more commits this week after what has to be a very good recruiting weekend.

According to Perfect Game, we have 18 commits for the 2022 class. That's a rather large class, I wonder how many of the Childress commits make it to campus.

For whatever reason, I don't think the previous staff related as well to the urban kids as they did with the small town rural guys. Seems like as in football, the new bb staff is recruiting more across the US. Good deal, bring em to Aggieland.

It has a lot do do with where these guys are from. Travel ball has gotten so watered down that you can't often see elite hitters facing elite pitchers during summer tournaments. So that makes the HS programs take on more importance. There are a few districts in the DFW and Houston areas where hitters face a college bound arm every Tuesday and Friday night. Kids that are standouts in those districts for more than one year project to do well at the college level. Also, the quality of individual instruction is much better in the larger metro areas than in rural 3A districts - and that's where most kids get better. HS and travel ball coaches don't teach the game as much as they used to so the quality of individual instruction becomes critical relative to a HS players improvement. So yeah it matters where they come from.
