TOP of the 9th Summary
Alejo K swinging, 1out
SARTORI: Single to LF, runner on 1st, 1out
Frizzell K swinging, runner on 1st, 2out
Austin Bost:k looking
game over
5-8 AGS lose

kiss hoover goodbye

Are we out officially?
We basically need one more win than Auburn which means we have to take the LSU series or sweep them while Auburn needs to lose their series to Mizzou. If both sweep or both take 2/3 then Auburn will go since they now have the head to head.

If we win 2 and auburn only wins 1, do we get in? Or does Mizzou?

We are in in this scenario because Mizzou and Auburn would have 9 wins and we would have 10

What if Mizzou sweeps?

Bottom line. If we sweep, we're in unless Auburn sweeps. Tall order.

If Mizzou sweeps then we need to sweep

Does anyone really care? We're a bad baseball team.

(Look for the RPI needs report and "we just gotta get it together down the stretch" optimists. Your enthusiasm is commendable.)

I care because I'm an Aggie baseball fan. So I'd rather we keep playing.
I'm a fan too, but this borders on self harm.
bad AGGIE baseball IS BETTER THAN NO AGGIE BASEBALL

I'm still waiting for the 1994 Pepperdine series.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

It is a sad state, when we are trying to figure out what it takes to finish in 12th place.

Wouldn't we get in over lsu if we sweep?

Aggie12B: I truly never thought I'd argue with you about whether more Aggie baseball is better than no Aggie baseball. This year's edition really makes it difficult to say that's correct. Also, I think our team proved this weekend that it's less worthy to make the tournament than even Auburn.

A&M currently has 8 conference wins.

the only way to reach Hoover with 10 wins...is for Mizzou to take exactly 2 of 3 from Auburn.

otherwise A&M has to sweep LSU and thus get to 11 wins

If we sweep lsu and auburn sweeps mizzou, then the Aggies, lsu and auburn would be in a 3 way tie for 12th, provide lsu won today. auburn has the tie breaker of us, lsu tiebreaker over auburn, we have tiebreaker over lsu. I don't have a clue what the tiebreaker would be for the last 2 spots.

I was medically retired from the Army, in large part due to PTSD from 4combat deployments to Iraq. Late March, April, and May are usually a bad time for me. Aggie baseball is a very welcome distraction from the memories. Having no AGGIE Baseball in 2020 SUCKED I am Thankful the AGS are playing ball this year, even if the product on the field isn't what I expect it to be. So I say again, Bad AGGIE Baseball is BETTER THAN NO AGGIE BASEBALL

If I recall that was scheduled to be played at Olsen field after the conference tournament.
Ags didn't qualify for the conference tournament and Pepperdine series was canceled

We don't have a true Saturday or Sunday starting pitcher and our Friday guy gave up three straight home runs this weekend.

strangely enough...every series between LSU & A&M has been 2-1 in one direction or the other.

never been a sweep by either team

We have dropped to 8-19 in SEC games. Auburn was 6-18 in SEC games before they won 2 out of 3 against us. As a result, we are currently tied with Auburn for last place in the SEC West. This has been a very disappointing season.

The 3 straight dingers was from our Saturday starting pitcher.

The umpires have nothing to do with any of our losses, the team is just bad. It doesn't even matter if we make it to the SEC tourny as the #12 seed as we will just lose the opening game, or maybe go 1-2 and be done. Really this team doesn't deserve to be in the SEC tournament IMHO.

Both Mizzou and Auburn hold tie-breaker over us, so I just don't see us getting in unless we sweep LSU and that will not happen.

Just end the season after the last out of the LSU game on Sunday and announce RC is not being retained, and move on.

Sorry, missed the first inning of Friday's game. Good to know our Friday starter only gave up back-to-back HR's.

That didn't happen, either. Keep trying, I'm sure you can come up with an accurate insult.

If we win 2 and lose 1, we would have 20 loses. If Mizzou loses 1 they will have 21 loses. We would get in

Standings now 11-14, of which top 2 will get in:

LSU 11-16
Auburn 8-19
------------------
aTm 8-19
Mizzou 7-20

If Mizzou wins 2-1 and we win 2-1 we are IN:
LSU 12-18
aTm 10-20
--------------------
Auburn 9-21
Mizzou 9-21

If Auburn wins 2-1 and we win 2-1 we are OUT:

LSU 12-18
Auburn 10-20
--------------------
aTm 10-20
Mizzou 8-22

If we lose the LSU series in any fashion we are out no matter what happens with Auburn and Mizzou. Bottom line, we need to win our series and have Mizzou win the series vs. Auburn.

Very complicated if we sweep and Auburn sweep as all 3 would be at 11-19, we would have tie-breaker over LSU, LSU has tie-breaker over Auburn, who has tie-breaker over us in H2H records. But the odds of us or Auburn sweeping are exceedingly thin.....

If it's HTHTH for the 3, we would be in along w/Auburn. We would both be 4-2 in the 3 team records.

Agree it's unlikely, but gives the team something to play for this week.
