Totally agree. They may not have had a good fall or spring, got beaten out by some up and coming young talent, but there is a certain intangible an experienced veteran can bring and I'd like to see them get that chance.

Sometimes it can be gamers vs intersquad hero's. Not saying that's the case but you can only take so much from when the lights aren't on. Will be fun to see how it shakes out

When you have a career .250 hitter in college baseball in your three hole and veterans on the bench for rookies you expect growing pains. But you have to hit and that is the decision you have to make. Who can hit above average pitching and Xavier isn't SEC level pitching. Long road ahead but these first year guys get some hits and confidence and we have players who start slow heat up we will be much better. Just didn't expect a series loss this weekend

Like what I saw from Sturges, even if he couldn't get a hit. Should probably take Frizzell's spot. Same power at half the size. Like to see Blaum in the lineup. If this game goes the same as sunday and the Brother's Coleman still isn't in the lineup then idk what to say.

Not going to lie the rotation coming into this weekend was kind of head scratching for me. I had kind of pegged either Chris Weber or Jonathan Childress as the Friday night starter, Or at least having them back to back in the weekend rotation. For Miller to jump from bullpen to Friday night starter was odd to me

I think if Childress has a big day today then he could jump Miller for that role soon

Me too. It was absurd, quite frankly, to think that your closer can just come in and be the friday guy without a hiccup. Maybe that was Rob's plan all along, a true 4d chess move to lose the first game. I had pegged the rotation to be Childress, Weber, and Saenz/Menefee/Bench game.

We already know Weber can be a starter, even if he had a rough 2020. Absolutely insane to use Miller as the Friday guy instead of using the sure thing. Kind of like the shenanigans with Blaum and Coleman. Desperation.

Gorgeous day at Olsen. I like this lineup. Let's start anew today, BTHO Xavier and the rest of the season!
