Yes and yes.

Every coach over-recruited, not just our coach. There is no way that anyone could have anticipated the situation with extended eligibility, truncated draft, etc. So, there are going to be lots of guys having to transfer and, in lots of cases, take a step down to find opportunity. It's just a numbers game at this point.

preference has to be given to the players that have a chance to play 3 or 4 years in the program. (i.e. the incoming freshmen)

can't push them aside for someone that might only play for 1 year
