May have to pull out the old vhs collection which includes several games from the 90's as well as 1989 sweet season and 1993 from Olsen to Omaha, and a 1999 highlight video from the A&M video .

Although I'm sure no recording or anything exists now, I'd love to see that 2008 Mizzou Friday night comeback.

I was at game 1, but for some reason missed game 2, so had to listen to year 1 Dave call the Big John Shot. So exciting. F-LSU.

Dave didn't call those games, or any games, during the '89 season. Long story, but following the '88 football season, Dave took a job as GM of the Waco radio station that was his day job when he first started doing A&M broadcasts, and he missed the '88-'89 basketball season (Chuck Cooperstein did basketball), the '89 baseball season (initially, it was Russ Francis, then halfway through the season, Bill Schoening took over), and the '89 football season (Duke Frye). Bill Schoening, who was working at KSAM in Huntsville, had the call. I'd bet money that was his audition tape when KLBJ was looking for someone to do Horn baseball the next year. Ultimately led to him doing football and basketball for the Horns when Brad Scham moved on, then to becoming the voice of the Spurs.

Dave came back after one football season without him convinced John David Crow that we needed to make a full time job for the radio announcer (I'm not sure Crow was even aware of the problem until football rolled around, given how little he cared for other sports).

Interesting how things play out.
