On ball 4, even if pass ball the play is not dead. It is possible for the runner to keep running past first and go to second. Maybe see that actually happen in little league more often but it is possible to keep going past first after a walk It is still a live ball. The runner automatically gets the base but can proceed pass that base at their own risk.

It was just a very interesting situation I had never seen before. Another reason to love the game. No matter how much you have seen or played, there can always be something new come up that you have never seen before.

Too many men on the field.

5 yds.

Dude, you're way off. That foul is now illegal substitution (NCAA rules, anyway).

Yeah, but it wasn't a substitution.

It's not a do over. And since time was never called between batters, there was never a dead ball situation that was wrongly put back in play.

Look at Rule 7.09(e) of your LL green book. It sounds like you have a retired runner who hindered or impeded a play being made on another runner. That other runner can be declared out because of the interference of his teammate.

That rule doesn't apply here because the kid never hindered or impeded anyone. They simply threw to the wrong bag. It is also a fielders duty to know the situation.

For him to interfere or impede he'd have to make physical contact or jump in front of the throw waving his arms trying to knock the ball down. Simply being on the field when he shouldn't is not a hindrance or impedance by definition.
