Calling them clutch is giving them some ridiculously undeserved credit. They have this uncanny ability to ALWAYS be in the other dugout when a team chooses to melt down. In just this tournament there was USC and Auburn, I remember an Army game early in the year where the Black Knights blew it in Baton Rouge in the 9th, there was us dropping a fly ball against them. It is truly inexplicable to me.

Pretty much the only thing the 3 ACC teams have on A&M is # of losses.
A&M has better SOS (8 vs. 30 (UNC), 31 (Miami) and 53 (NCSt))
A&M has better Non-Con SOS (65) than Miami (137) and NCSt (180). UNC is at 62.
A&M has more Quad 1 wins (17) than UNC (11), Miami (12), and NCSt (9). In fact, A&M has won more Quad 1 games than NCSt has played (17 vs. 15).
A&M was 5-5 vs. Top 10 rpi teams. UNC is 1-3. Miami is 3-3, NCSt is 0-3.

Miami and N.C. State have strong road records.

I have no idea how we managed to do what we did tonight. Walk-on Clay Moffitt outlasting a 1st round draft pick. Hoover always seems to bring out our best. I don't know who's left on our staff to pitch tomorrow. We're gonna have to pitch infielders and pull fans from the stands against Vandy.

I think we locked up a hosting spot tonight. Y'all should host, too. Santa Barbara has no business hosting over either of us with the schedule they play.

Not sure we use a witch, but it wouldn't surprise me if Mainieri has a voodoo doll of John Cohen and Dave van Horn in his office somewhere. That might be the only thing that could explain our bizarre dominance over them under Mainieri.

We could be losing 10-0 in the 9th to either of them, and I'd still feel a win was possible. That's just how it's gone over the years. We had no business run-ruling them tonight with an island of misfit toys on the mound.
