Mississippi State has a non-conference SoS of #224 with just 2 non-conference games left. That is really bad.

State scheduled only 1 true non-conference road game this season. Playing a whopping 36 home games. The committee is going to notice.

seems like State will have to win the West division to be a top 8 host

Needs report says they need to go 12-2 to end the season for top 8 RPI, so essentially they agree. We can go 11-3, but would need sweeps of both MSU and Arkie.

Needs report says they need to go 12-2 to end the season for top 8 RPI, so essentially they agree. We can go 11-3, but would need sweeps of both MSU and Arkie.

And those numbers are fluid...changing from day to day as other results come in, upsets happen, games get rained out, etc.

They had a game against Nebraska cancelled, tceh isn't living up to it's recent standards, but mostly, they've played too many SWAC schools. Every SEC West school should probably schedule a SWAC school if only to help out in-state schools that need all the help they can get on the financial side, but more than 2 SWAC games is too many.

They usually play a lot of home games, but I wonder if they scheduled more at home this year to make it up to the season ticket holders for the lack of home games last year during the stadium renovation.

So do clanga and ole piss have a normal weekend series at all? Or do they just schedule another sec east series to make up for the lack of sec games?

They play an alternating home/home 3 game conference series and 1 neutral site non-conference mid-week ame each year.

Both teams are in the SEC West so have a three game series against each other every year. They opt to schedule a midweek game every season also. Bama and Auburn do the same. In both instances the midweek game is not a league game as far as SEC standings go.

Florida dropped *another* mid-week game, this time to Florida Atlantic. Unless the other team has FSU on their caps, it seems like UF can't beat 'em in the mid-week.

UF has now lost mid-week games to South Florida (RPI 136), North Florida (106), Central Florida (77), Florida Gulf Coast (108), and Florida Atlantic (50). But they've beaten Florida State (64) three times in three different stadiums.

such that #29 Dallas Baptist and #32 Texas State could be regional #2 seeds...ahead of BU, t.u., and TCU (some of which won't make the field)

checking in with #10 Georgia Tech (28-13)...didn't realize how good of a resume the Yellowjackets have:

went 2-1 vs. Georgia and 2-0 vs. Auburn.

won a road series at #6 Louisville and a home series vs. #15 North Carolina.

got beat 2 of 3 by #1 UCLA and lost 2 of 3 at #14 Miami.

GT looks good to grab one of the last top 8 host slots

I don't disagree, but I think they'll struggle with P5 weekend pitching. I think 4 seeds are filled with auto-qualifiers, and life as a 3 seed would be tough.
