Because they are willing to travel here without a return trip.


P.S. - If it stops raining, Olsen field drains in a hurry. One of the regionals (maybe 2016?) started with a lake in shallow left field and deep center field. 30 minutes later, there was no standing water on the field and the games started slightly behind schedule.

We play a lot of these teams every year. It's because they're close and can take a bus here and back without a lot of travel time or missing school in the middle of the week. We're pretty lucky in that we're in a region where we have a lot of good teams that are very close to us and can travel in the midweeks. Some schools are in areas of the country where they don't have that and often play the same school multiple times in a year in the midweek games.

As for why we always play at home, it probably has something to do with money and facilities. Also, Childress prefers to play at home. We do home and aways with some schools, either every other year or every three years. Don't recall ever playing at SFA, though. This'll be the first year we go up to play at DBU, for instance.
