According to attendant, now only applies to weekday games.

Interesting. Wondered why seats didn't fill up last night.

Yeah, I got that. I didn't notice that it was only for weekday games, so I was expecting folks to fill in last night.

That's correct. Fill in applies to T/W/Tr games only, at least until the ticket office reverses or changes it for some reason.

This is a direct result of season ticket holders pitching a fit about having to share their adjacent seating with obnoxious fans from general admission. Many who "filled in" were gracious of the opportunity, but a rowdy minority screwed it up for everyone else.

Source: I work the games.

I purchased tickets in reserved seats last year to many games. I cant count how many times I would get up to how to the restroom or get a drink or the playground, and come back and someone took our seats, and then refused to leave because they were empty after the 4th.

4th Inning Fill-In

In an effort to create the most fun and intimidating atmosphere in college baseball, we want you to be aware that Blue Bell Park will be practicing "4th Inning Fill-In" again this season.

Following the 3rd inning of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday games, any individuals with purchased tickets may fill in unused seats located in non-club seating areas for the remainder of the game unless the seat holder arrives to claim their seat.

I bet they can. And there's likely nothing (short of throwing a hissy fit) you can do about it. But I doubt anyone would sit between you and your friends.

That is heinous. I would have thrown a conniption.

I would never, ever call BS on another Ag. But this is close. If it happened (multiple times?), it's such an easy fix: Show them your tickets. Or better yet, get the usher and have it resolved.

You have ticket, seat fill inner has to move.

She shouldn't have to get an usher though. I think that's her point. She came back to her seats and people refused to move when SHE asked.

But she knows about this policy. So either get the ushers or don't leave you seat.

The issue is people think they can move to those seats and it becomes their seats. Again that's why the ushers should be called immediately

And those who move down should quickly get up and move when the ticket holder returns.

There are a lot of things that should happen, but don't.

Again that's what ushers are for.

Everyone around us knows those are our seats, and that we're here at the game. They would politely tell those folks that those seats are ours, and we're here.

Correct. Ushers will gladly remove someone filling in if they took an occupied seat. Period.

If you've paid for a ticket, it definitely detracts from the experience to return to your seat, find it filled, go back to the tunnel, find an usher, bring them back to your seat... Especially if you have a small child in tow.

I don't think anyone here is claiming that people are refusing even with ushers to leave seats. Just that its an inconvenience to regularly have to get "the authorities" in order to sit in the seat you paid for.

If an usher has to remove a fill in fan because they wouldn't move, the fill in fan should be ejected from the stadium.

Word. A quick "hey, this is my seat" should be all it takes. No harm, no foul on the person that sat there.

This rule will cause nothing but agony unless it is CLEAR and CONSISTENT. No usher should be required to reseat with your ticket or an image of it. Having to involve ushers to deconflict means it's a bad idea.

Yes, but that's an inconvenience to me, and I end up missing part of the game to remedy the situation. I bought ticke for s for reserved seats so I didn't have to worry about someone taking my seat if I got up to take my toddler to the restroom.

This. I'm not a fan of the fill in, but if they are going to do it, the folks filling in have to understand that the minute someone shows them a ticket for the seat they "fill in," they are moving. If the ushers have to get involved, then these folks need to be escorted out of the park. Either that, or don't do it at all.

They wouldn't get up!?!? Those weren't very good Ags. Plus, there's something called being polite and decent forget "policy". I'd ask nicely once, then not sure I'd even get an usher as I'd explain their options at that point. One shouldn't even have to "get an usher" for seats they have purchased. These idiots should "fill in" elsewhere and they should understand that. Glad they changed the policy. It wasn't intended to be an "after 4 th inning free-for-all" but a way for fans to enjoy seats that were going to be empty for the entire game. That's crazy you had to put up with that.

Im sure it didnt help though that one of the ushers at a few games last year (new usher) kept telling people that anything that wasnt armchair seating was general admission.

As a father of a toddler, not sure if I might explain to the squaters that they can have the seats, but they must sit with my 3 year old. "Here's his snacks, he's almost potty trained but here are his diapers, and he will need one of your phones to watch his you tube kids videos, that is if you actually want to see some of the game. Good luck!"
Have a feeling the problem would be solved quickly!
