Game is now 12 innings, but it could go to 16 if they want to. Hope to see y'all out there. I'll take any criticism on the facility if y'all see any problems at the park.
It's a great place to take in a ballgame. My only criticism is that when I'm there at highly-attended games, they only open one exit. Everyone has to funnel to that one exit and it's very crowded and slow. Wasn't a problem on Friday night, of course. Other than that, I really like going to games at Rice, and Friday night was a lot of fun.
I'm not a huge fan of Reckling. The field is too far away from the stadium, and the vertical grade is pretty low, so if you are in the upper deck, you are too far from the action for a college game. Feels like you are at a MLB game as far as distance from the diamond. Also, the beer garden built down left field line obscures the view in the corner if you are anywhere on the 3rd base side.
If you recall, the field is in the same place it's always been, but the old Cameron Park bleachers, I think, would have fit inside foul territory (in other words, the new grandstand was built outside the old bleachers). That (and the shallow rake of the stands) is why it feels like you're a mile away.
