The term is actually "Wallet whip". Alliteration is always cooler. That's a freebie OPpeace said:
The term 'money whip' sounds like something that originated in sipville. I had the same thought as soon as I saw the thread title.....money whip, do not like. Too arrogant!

Sometimes it's not how good you are but who you don't have to play during the season.

If RC wins a game in Omaha next year then people will find another stat to take a stand on, like only winning one game in Omaha in 14 years.Gap said:
I just want to make sure I have our standard updated for next season and season's beyond. From a fan perspective, there was making the 1) CWS and then 2) winning the whole thing. Now, we have a category in between where winning a game in Omaha become a milestone type thing achievement where Childress is awarded a lifetime contract. Is that the case or do 1) and 2) above still apply as the primary big items?
I'm curious.... what is your standard?Gap said:

Nah. If RC even makes it to Omaha he gets an extension, probably a 3-year one, which IMO would be deservedHoustonAg2106 said:If RC wins a game in Omaha next year then people will find another stat to take a stand on, like only winning one game in Omaha in 14 years.Gap said:

It looks like he laid them out in his message. He is asking if his old way of thinking needs to be updated to where winning a game in Omaha is an achievement to be celebrated and thus rewarded much greater than making the CWS.Captain Pablo said:I'm curious.... what is your standard?Gap said:

I'm certain this sounded profound in your head but in reality you contributed nothing to the discussion. Congrats.aggiedad55 said:
Childress has had more than enough time to win at least one game in the CWS. Time for a change.

Yep. It was always "He hasn't been to Omaha" until 2011. After which it promptly became "He hasn't won a game in Omaha".HoustonAg2106 said:If RC wins a game in Omaha next year then people will find another stat to take a stand on, like only winning one game in Omaha in 14 years.Gap said:

Without question. Just tired of the drones that have exactly one thought on the subject. They're like a rabid dog with no sense of logic or direction, just the need to lash out and say the same thing over and over and over and over. It's beyond tiresome. This is a thread about a specific candidate to replace him and 50 posts in we get a "fire Childress" as if that's somehow a meaningful statement in this context. It's not.TXAggie2011 said:I'm certain this sounded cooler in your head, tooLOYAL AG said:I'm certain this sounded profound in your head but in reality you contributed nothing to the discussion. one more Tadlock story.
Remember that Coral Gables Regional the Red Raiders won back in 2014? With College of Charleston upsetting Florida in the Gainesville Regional, Tech hosted its first super regional in program history against College of Charleston. It was a huge accomplishment, and it was the moment Tech, and Tadlock, had been waiting so long for.
Before the opener against College of Charleston, Mother Nature attempted to throw a wrench into Texas Tech's parade. But the skies eventually cleared and Texas Tech took infield. Fans splashed in Red and Black and with Double T's on their hats serenaded the players with chants of 'Raider!' 'Power!', and Thomas remembers noticing something peculiar about Tadlock's attitude while hitting the fungo.
"We're in the super out there against C of C, and he's hitting in and out with the fungo. It's so loud in that place that the stands are vibrating, and every time he swings the bat, I see tears rolling down his face," Thomas said. "As we walked back into the dugout, I asked him if he was doing good.
"He just looked at me and said 'Hell yes, I'm good'," he continued. "Then he said 'What's better than this? I went to school here, I was on the first team to win 40 games here and I met my wife here. They believed in me enough to be here and we're about to go to Omaha'. It's worth mentioning all of this happened before we had even won the first game, much less two."
Tadlock already has reached legendary status in Lubbock, but he's not finished. His vision calls for more.
Cool. Aside from posting on a message board, what're you doing?Artimus Gordon said:
Just like "wait till next year", the "another winning season" mentality keeps underachieving coaches on the 25 year plan to retirement at A&M. We're on year 13 with Childress what makes you think that during the next 12 he is going to get any smarter and start getting to the CWS at any faster of a pace than the once every 7 years he is on now? Like at the casinos, Ag fans keep plugging money into a slot machine that never pays off or worse yet it pays off a little and keeps you plugging money into it thinking that it eventually will pay off big, one day. Folks it is time to change slot machines. We have been down this road too many times.
