I know there are some former players on here...

What would be a nice gift for a kid heading to play D1 ball? I'm assuming he will be given lots of gear (jackets, shirts, etc.). Kind of at a loss as to what he might "need" and still appreciate as a cool gift.

Before I went off to play college ball one of my dad's friends got me something like this for my HS graduation gift. All of the guys I played with in college would ask me about it.

Rawlings Duffel Bag

It is rather pricey! But if you poke around that website there are cheaper Rawlings leather stuff you can buy.

If he is playing at a big time program, don't get them anything school-related. Trust me, they will get more gear than they will need for a lifetime. My brother still has an entire side of his closet that is full of gear he received while playing at The University of Oklahoma.

Get him something that will go in his room or something. You can get neon signs made.

I have zero experience with D1 baseball, but I'd imagine a top of the line laptop that will last 4+ years would be useful for somebody balancing school work while on the road.
