Despite being down 21 or 22 runs, they immediately tossed the Andritsos single ball into the Aggie dugout for him. I thought that was a nice gesture.

And despite pitchers being obviously frustrated and angry, not one of them flipped off the stands, or mouthed any curse words.

That's a lot more than can be said of many teams that have been down not nearly as bad as they were

Big difference in the two squads. And the RI guys will be working for the Cornell grads one day...

And a lot of Aggies may be working for the Cornell guys as well. That's a very good school.

Agreed, I just didn't want to admit it. Great school. Actually, one of my favorite outside A&M.

That ball that hit the pitcher in the foot had some velocity. I don't think I could have kept on pitching after that. Dude has got to be hurting today.

These guys are so happy to see some semblance of sunshine that they don't care about winning or scores!!

The only Ivy League school that wasn't a Colonial College.

Don't let go of the hate yet.

My daughter went to college in the same town as Cornell (Ithaca College), and she had a lot of Cornell friends when she was in school. Other than the normal good natured social rivalries between schools, there was not a lot of difference between the students. Just normal kids going to college in upstate New York. And Ithaca is one of great college towns anywhere: great live music scene, gorgeous setting, two decent sized (but not too big) schools, a number of 24/7 options for food, etc. The town is just big enough to have all the conveniences and shopping & dining options that you might want, but not so big that you get overwhelmed by the traffic and the noise. It reminded me a lot of Austin of the late 60's and early 70's.

Agree. It takes a lot of character to handle the environment in Olsen and the level of heckling we throw at a team. That's good sportsmanship, remembering it is a game and respecting great play from your opponent. Looking forward to the game this afternoon!

Ithaca is a great college town. It's a lot like College Station in that it revolves around the school (or schools, in this case) and it's just big enough to have quality entertainment and activities for young people. It's definitely a hippie town, but Upstate NY (and rural Pennsylvania, which is nearby) is *very* conservative. It's not unusual to see rebel flags outside of town, and there's Trump stuff all over.

The school itself really is a lot like A&M. It's huge for an Ivy (20k+ enrollment) and it's NY's Morrill Land Grant school. The vet, ag and engineering schools are some of the best in the world and are a prominent part of the culture of the school.

It's in the northeast so it's naturally more liberal than A&M but there are some programs within the university are very conservative (e.g. the business school) and no one is burning cars or macing people of opposing political perspectives like they do at Berkeley.

Academically, there really is no comparison between the two schools, and that's not a slam at A&M. Cornell's list of prominent alumni, especially in the sciences, is mind boggling.

Cornell is mostly private but the land grant colleges (Agriculture, Human Ecology, Industrial & Labor Relations, and Veterinary Medicine) are actually public.

Also, A&M tops the Fortune 100 CEOs list but Cornell is second to only Harvard in Fortune 500 CEO alumniwith 9. A&M is 4th (behind Penn State also) with 6.

I stand by my post. Many Aggies MAY be working for Cornell grads. That list doesn't dispute my point.

Cornell is a better school as far as overall education. No offense to our school at all.

Yep. It's not even close. And many Cornell grads may be Aggies' bosses.

For all you Cornell lovers, you might google the uproar over the bear mascot being too masculine and heterosexual. I kid you not.

Unsure who here loves Cornell. Personally I dislike all ivy league schools because they are so liberal. But there's no denying those schools academic strengths.

Why is it so important to you to highlight the academic superiority of another school on an A&M sports forum?

I don't get it.

And they "MAY NOT" be

What's the point of saying that if you don't even know if they do or don't?

And BTW, "a lot" of Cornell people "may be" working for Aggies

Big deal

Nope, but one of the moms flipped us off Saturday. Tim immediately got stuck with a "Ball 5" and folks who we can only assume were relatives began walking to the other side of the stadium. One of the ladies did the *subtle* scratching of her head with her middle finger. We got a good chuckle out of that. Oh the joys of putting visiting parents right next to GA.
