Why wasn't that a single for Bedford? Doesn't seem like a baserunning mistake should be held against the batter.

Because they don't give errors to runners and you can't really consider that tough play an error for the field. I'm assuming it was ruled Fielders Choice ?

Because there was a force out made. Maybe not fair to the hitter but those are the rules.
