It's a good class, but it's always hard to evaluate these things before the draft. We don't have any definitive 1st round guys that we have little hope of getting on campus, but there are several guys we'll probably have to sweat it out on. We've probably got 5-6 guys who could be top 4-5 round draft picks depending on their $ demands and how well they perform their senior year.

Jonathan Childress and Noah Naylor will be the names to sweat out as they most likely will go pro. Childress has represented Team USA on their U16 team. Naylor will be similar to Adam Hall but with better power.

Childress: http://www.the3rdmanin.com/jonathan-childress-mlb-draft/
Naylor: https://www.thestar.com/sports/baseball/2017/07/12/naylor-brothers-josh-noah-rising-to-mlb-prominence-after-all-star-events.html

I wouldn't worry about sweating out naylor. He will very likely be a high draft pick and will very likely sign.

I don't know a ton about all the guys but I think Childress, menefee and miko Rodriguez will be the key guys to watch.

surprised by the almost complete lack of Houston area guys on that list. As stated earlier - rankings of classes should only happen after the pro baseball dust settles. Until then its pointless.

I saw Menefee and Childress pitch against each other in Atlanta this past summer. Both are absolute "dudes". If we can get them to campus they will both be immediate impact guys.

Chris Weber from Boerne is the real deal. Probably the best left handed high school pitcher in the state. Throws 5 pitches and commands the zone. 6'4" 220lbs. Probably gets drafted high so big chance he doesn't ever put on an Aggie uniform

If you don't follow football recruiting, might want to check out national #1 football recruit, QB Justin Fields from Kennesaw, GA. Jimbo Fisher visited him yesterday. He's also a baseball prospect. Fisher let Jameis Winston play baseball. Interesting.

If he's interested in baseball as well that would be huge. RC has our program in a much better place than Georgia is.

Grayson Rodriguez threw a no hitter with 19 K's tonight against a solid Bridge City team in front of dozens of scouts. He controlled 4 pitches and touched 97 on the gun, with his 106th and final pitch clocking in at 96mph.

The game ended in a 0-0 tie, as D1 Sophmore's Payton Havard & Logan Hamm combined with 2 other pitchers to throw a 1 hitter. Lots of talent on the field tonight for both squads. Rodriguez seems to love A&M, but I would be surprised if he ever stepped on campus for us.

Noah (Bo) Naylor and Jonathan Childress seem like locks to be high draft picks and sign. Grayson seems to be right behind them with Brandon Birdsell up for consideration as well.

Any of those 4 making it to campus would appear to be a steal right now.
