Long read, but apparently there isn't a defined base path until the tag attempt comes, so a guy can run anywhere. High school championship game a few years ago a coach in a first and third situation ran a guy into the outfield grass form first trying to induce a throw and it turned into a lengthy standoff.

They are calling it an "epic" trick play, but it didn't even work in this instance. Not that epic if you ask me.

The play as described by ESPN consumed on order of 81 seconds. That's longer than Mike Hargrove conducting a human rain delay on his better days.
