Really surprised Clemson is hosting. Not sure they deserve it more than Florida State. Likely paired with Florida.

I think Missouri State could get left out one sweep over DBU is highlight of their resume. St. John's sweating UCONN left out Miami left out. McNeese out Gonzaga out. Nebraska, Auburn, TAMU, La Tech, ODU, and FAU sweating bullets UCLA in, San Diego out.

Looking on Twitter, all 3 D1 Baseball main writers are very surprised Virginia is the odd man out among the ACC teams. They think it could mean that RPI will be the primary deciding factor this year.

yep, that's one of A&M's biggest problems.

The committee gets lazy and says "let's take every at-large team with an RPI in the 30's and complete the bracket"

and they never get to the 40's

If that were the case, #42 RPI McNeese State would be the final team in.

I wish the Ags were a little bit closer to #42

one last thing on Virginia...

UVA did have an awful non-conference SoS #235 --- that's really bad

I'm going to be optimistic and go with Gonzaga, St. John's, and A&M for the last three.

gotta think Ray Tanner has a lot of pull with the committee as a former SEC head coach with rings.

Miami lost 27 games and didn't win a single series vs. a regional team.

also wouldn't be surprised if Maryland is in and Michigan is out to make the Maryland AD feel okay going home
hey, not bad. Only missed on Gonzaga's being out. Maryland made it after all

They regularly get into the 50s yet alone the 40s.

there are a lot of factors at work among these 11 teams.

-- St. John's, Gonzaga, and McNeese are the regular season champions of their leagues --- the committee respected St. John's title...not the other two

-- the Maryland AD is on the committee --- the AD delivered for his school

-- the committee chairman is from the West Coast conference...a plus for Gonzaga & San Diego -- West Coast chairman (from Univ of San Fran) could not come through for Gonzaga

-- Gonzaga may be the only team within bus distance of Corvallis, Oregon -- non-factor

-- the NCAA is trying to spread the popularity of college baseball across the country. It would be a blow to the Northeast for both St. John's and UConn to be left out -- St. John's made it

-- C-USA was the #6 RPI conference. The league is worthy of an at-large team...a plus for ODU and LaTech -- conference RPI was not enough for ODU

-- Miami has not missed regional play since the Nixon Administration -- committee didn't care about Miami's history

-- SEC! SEC! SEC! yes indeed
and for the Saturday night mini-conspiracy theories...
