Interesting to watch some of these offers with Roccoforte on the staff. This kid is from my hometown in Baytown and just received his first offer from Lamar a couple of weeks ago. The A&M offer is the first P5 and only the second offer he's received so they are way out in front on this eval.

When you watch his video, you can tell he's raw and doesn't look like he's spent much time in the weight room. He has an awkward release on the 3-ball but he does get it off pretty quickly. What stands out to me is how quick he is finishing around the basket. I think for a 6-foot-6 kid, he finishes as well as any top kid that long. But he's too raw and soft for the boys to jump in at this point. Definitely an eval kid with a lot of upside.

Definitely looking like a bit of a strategy shift to begin incorporating a few high athleticism, high upside developmental prospects that could blossom as impact players after 2-3 years. Not a bad way to equalize with the high level recruiting in the SEC assuming they establish a consistent pipeline of successfully evaluated/developed prospects of this type. Combine that with portal pickups and solid recruiting classes each year and it could be a recipe for significant success.
Admittedly, there's a risk in any course we follow, but every lesson of history tells us that the greater risk lies in appeasement, and this is the specter our well-meaning liberal friends refuse to face, that their policy of accommodation is appeasement, and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight or surrender. If we continue to back and retreat, eventually we have to face the final demand, the ultimatum.

Why would you ever waste a ship on a project now when you can just go out and land proven guys in the portal with several years left? I hope if we make a shift it is to stop recruiting guys who can't shoot.

Hopefully these guys we're offering are the kids like Marcus Williams that have slipped through the cracks a bit but aren't projects. Hard to make any kind of accurate judgement about the makeup of a basketball player's ability based on a 30 second twitter clip.

You should check out the recruits out of hs that Buzz has recruited in the past. It might surprise you as to how good of a talent evaluator he is....

Steve Roccaforte recruited him to East Carolina; as soon as Roccaforte moved here, White decommitted from ECU. I assume that Roccaforte must think highly of him.

Class of 2022 6'4 Guard AJ Brown has now been offered by Texas A&M. He is a player that everyone should keep a eye on. AJ is in position to have a big time July on the EYBL.
