Really nice analysis of Caruso, who will likely have to play a significant role on the Lakers in NBA's 'bubble' finish of the season in Orlando.

Note: This is a pure basketball video, analyzing Caruso's current skillset as an NBA basketball player. Respectfully ask other posters to leave any political-oriented discussions out of this thread.

Was it here that the post was made showing Lebron and Alex together are the most efficient scoring combination for the Lakers at least based on the season so far??

Lebron and Caruso have the highest plus minus per 48 of any tandem in the NBA.

He was used a lot in crunch time last night.

Roughly the entire last 6 minutes of the game.

Read another Ringer article this morning that the Laker's starting lineup was notably the worse in terms of +/-, that the Lakers got a lot better when going smaller playing Anthony Davis at the 5 rather than pairing Davis up with JaVale McGee. Swapping out McGee for guys like Caruso or Waiters.

Caruso's shot wasn't falling, he was only 2-7 from the field and 3-6 from the free throw line.

But he did his typical hustle stuff and he looked pretty comfortable. And he had 0 turnovers in 28 minutes of play (in a game where both teams had 36 turnovers combined).

That's all Alex needs to do to continue playing a major role. Hustle, no turnovers, optimally make a couple more shots including the freebies, and he's good to go.

I'd love to see a Bucks - Lakers finals with Middleton and Caruso on the court. Would be a high point moment for former A&M players in the NBA.

He had a great steal late, too.

But more importantly (to me, at least)... he looked comfortable in big possessions. The ball flowed through him fairly often, and his entire demeanor suggested that he belongs on the floor in a close game.

Biggest thing for Alex is if he can knock the open 3 at a high enough clip for opponents to not sag off of him. As long as he can do that out there- the other stuff he brings to the table makes his limited offensive game worth it.

He had a forgettable game right up until the 4th quarter. You could see the demeanor on his face that he wasn't too pleased with his performance. He was missing wide open shots, free throws and he was late in a couple of defensive rotations. I saw AD talk to him during a timeout late in the 3rd qtr and he seemed fine after that--he got into the flow of the game.

He vindicated himself with that steal and you could see that his attitude changed not because of the steal, but due to his focus and decision making.

With Rondo and Bradly out, he could make a name for himself if he continues to improve.

Caruso's old Aggie teammate Danuel House playing really well for Rockets vs Mavs tonight. 14 points mid-way through 3rd quarter including 4 threes. He's been automatic from downtown.

With 2 minutes to go in 3rd against nuggets, he was +26 in 14 minutes of game time, without scoring a point... glue

Caruso needs to get it going. Right now is his opportunity and he's not playing very good.
