Mike White coached Appleby's brother at La. Tech, and Florida is getting his last visit, so we may be the underdog here.

We do need more front court players, especially one or two that could play this year. But we only have 2 underclassmen backcourt guys (the 2 freshmen signed this year), so I wouldn't say that we don't need any more guards. Especially with Buzz preferring to play small ball.

Appleby's numbers in the 6 games vs good teams were pretty awful (37% eFG, 27% turnover rate) but he was able to get to the FT line a ton, so at a minimum he probably has the athleticism to play at this level. Hopefully the poor shooting and turnovers was just a case of him trying to do too much for an overmatched team.

Also could have just as easily been a vastly superior team realizing he's the only one they need to shut down.
