I was the same age as JJ when I lost my dad to cancer during the summer after my first year at Texas A&M. Prayers for JJ and his family.

So sad for anyone to lose a parent but especially for a young person.

I lost my dad at 38. I'm not sure it's ever an "ok" age. Life without a safety net.

I'm not saying there is an OK age. I still shed tears for my mom and dad. That was in '97 and '02. That was just before I turned 50 and just after I turned 50. It's just maybe I could understand it better. It's bound to be harder for a young man like JJ.

Prayers for JJ. There's never a good or okay age to lose a Dad and particularly as young as JJ is. Our sympathy to the entire family.

Tough to imagine how one deals with the loss of a parent particularly a father active in a son's life. Hoping that the situation causes JJ and fam to depend ever more heavily on their Heavenly Father as he is able to sustain them.
