I mean he took his team to the Elite Eight in only his second season, I'm not sure that hiring a guy that's spent the last couple of years as an assistant in the G League is really any additional evidence that he's a good coach.
Cyp seems like a decent enough coach, but it's not exactly landscape altering news.

I enjoyed my interactions with Cyp personally and he seemed like a good dude from people who knew him better than I, but he was overrated as a recruiter here and a bit of a self-promoter (which was why many people on here overrated him as a recruiter).

It was a very small technicality that has since been cleared. He did graduate.

Always amusing to me when people who are clearly personal friends of somebody being discussed on a sports forum get super defensive. You have to expect that things aren't always going to be discussed the way you would like them to be.
I mean, no matter how much someone "loves Texas A&M" the opinion of A&Ms fans is not gonna be milk and honey when the basic fact is that we went 50-49 in the three years he was on the staff, he got fired, and then that was also immediately followed by 4 years at 87-49 with 2 sweet sixteen appearances. I mean, it's not like thats all down to him or anything, but the optics are not good for fans of the team, and there's not many (any?) good vibes to be remembered.
DTP02 on spot - phenomenal guy and even better family guy. Swings for the fences Recruiting wise but impossible to land when Recruiting here or certainly Lubbock. Love the guy regardless
