Is there any update on them? When will we know if they are coming back?
Thanks!
Thanks!

they are going to play basketball
The problem isn't predicting it. The problem is having the high level recruits you want see the path to them playing 30 minutes a game when it looks like a situation where they would be a bench player.free_mhayden said:
And 6 months from now when we're struggling due to lack of size I'm sure certain posters will be chiming in with something along the lines of "well there's no way Kennedy could have predicted that Davis was going to leave early".
Pretty simplistic way of viewing the world....free_mhayden said:
So what you're saying is when BZ told us 3 months ago that Davis had one foot out the door and wasn't likely to come back that he wasn't just making things up?

I don't think so. He is who he is. Another year in college would have been one more year he played for free. He has already achieved great things in college. Time to go get paid for it. I think he is making the smart decision by leaving.MidTnAg said:
Davis apparently going to Europe. Doubt he will get drafted. Poor decision. He should have stayed and earned his degree. Another year in college might have gotten him an invite to the Combine and possibly be drafted.
This is objectively wrong. The knock on Davis is his athleticism. That's not changing with another year. He's already proven he is strong as an ox, that he's got an insane work ethic, and that he has great fundamentals around the basket. Maybe if he spent the off season developing an outside game that'd help a bit, but Davis isn't a stretch 4/5 no matter how you slice it. Besides, what makes you think the coaching he gets here would be better than the coaching he gets in Europe for a year before potentially coming to the NBA later (unlikely that he'd go overseas and come back, but then so is another year of him playing at A&M). Plus, a good player in Europe is making $150k+. Can't fault him for taking that opportunity and the chance to travel across europe.MidTnAg said:

Davis can come back to college whenever he wants and get his degree.MidTnAg said:

I just hope Davis, Hogg and Williams took care of their academics this Spring, I'd hate to see the next coach handicapped with APR issues...

Terrible blow for the team. The 5 best players now are probably Starks/Gilder/Mitchell/Flagg/Nebo. Although we have never seen Mitchell and Nebo play here so even that is TBD. It would be a pretty small lineup but could be an interesting one depending on how much Starks/Flagg improve their 3 point percentage. The only "proven" depth we have is JJ Chandler and he didn't even play that well.
The worst thing is that Kennedy will almost certainly start and play Jasey for 25+ minutes a game because he is a center. Jasey just didn't look great in limited minutes last year. Keeping Davis would have pushed Jasey into limited minutes and turned a negative into a major positive. This completely changed the complexion of the team.
I suppose this was always the way the Kennedy era was meant to end. Everything in flames.
