Total body of work.

Then how did the Ramblers end up all the way at 7?

Their total body of work put them in the Final Four.

Guys, not sure if you heard, but they beat Florida at Florida.

It seems pretty arbitrary.

I don't see Mich making it out of the 2nd weekend on the right side of the bracket, pretty much caught every break possible

The coaches polls always seem "arbitrary". They're familiar mostly with their own conferences.

We are not in any way too early 2019 rankings. Lunardi even released a bracket for next year and we aren't in it.

That's because ESIPN hates A&M!!!

Worthless attempted talking point. Take off your college football mentality hat. The schools that didn't win it all from big conferences and made the final 4 (Michigan and Kansas) had 8 losses. In college basketball, you can have 3-4 non-conference losses (with a good schedule) and that be better than going undefeated in the non-conference in many cases.

Great point, Gap. We had exactly the 3-4 losses before conference play last year (2016-17) and it was definitely better for us than if we had gone undefeated in pre-conf. Sure, we missed the postseason, but you gotta take off your football mentality hat to understand.

I think he meant because of imbalanced schedules? Like having 3-4 losses against a good schedule can be better in the eyes of the committee than going undefeated against a trash schedule.

We've been on the "also under consideration" lists of some of the "too early top 25s" I've seen.

If Davis comes back though we should be good enough to make the tournament.

So, coaches overrate the tournament just like TexAgs?

They lost, we beat North Carolina. Advantage us.

BK needs overwhelming talent just to make the tournament.

We won't have that next year even if Davis comes back and after that we are screwed thanks to the lack of recruiting. But hey, maybe after another 3 years of underwhelming mediocrity we can finally end the BK experiment

If Davis, Hogg and Gilder all come back, it's a very talented team.

BK doesn't develop talent at all

Those 3 aren't enough to overcome his uninspiring coaching and tolerance for lazy, sloppy play

I don't think it'll be an easy season by any stretch or anything, but if they all come back we should be able to make the tournament.

But that's what's so frustrating. He SHOULD have made the tournament in 2015. He SHOULD have made the tournament in 2017.

If no significant injuries or suspensions, then yes would more likely than not be an NCAA tournament team. You'd have 4 returning starters coming back from a Sweet Sixteen team, with 3 of them very experienced seniors who will each have played on 2 Sweet Sixteen teams.

Plus if the SEC is strong again next season, that will rise the tide helping more SEC teams get into NCAA By giving some more margin for error.

Would be very reasonable to expect an NCAA bid. Could be even a team that again makes the second weekend of tournament.

Let's see if they do all come back, and also what others pieces they add to finish filling out the roster.

Doesn't matter what the poll says, the NCAA tourney has us tying for 9th. If you adjusted it for how the team that put us out finished, then we finished 10th.

Pollsters don't like A&M, but they don't really matter in this case.

I think pollsters were very fair all year to A&M. Talking heads as well.

So Radford finished the year ranked #33? They lost to Villanova in the 1st round.

Did Virginia finish 67th or 68th? They were one of two teams last lost to a 16 seed...
