The only time Texas A&M defeated North Carolina was in the second round of the 1980 NCAA tournament, Dave Goff's senior campaign. Great guy. Great Aggie. As Coach Metcalf said in 1981, "We miss Dave Goff." God's peace and comfort to his family.

Just a great guy. He would come by our dorm to visit a few times.

My goodness. I had no idea. The third member of the 1980 starting 5 to pass. RIP Rudy Woods, Vernon Smith, and Dave Goff. I was at the games in 1980, 7 years old, with my dad. Remember Goff stealing the ball against Bradley and making the FT's to win the game, and then running the 4 corners against UNC in OT the following game. One of our all-time greats.

Loved watching him play. Never forget his play to beat Bradley or being in the house in Denton when he led the team against UNC. The Goff/ Britton backcourt was fun to watch

I probably listened on the radio to every game he played( called by Mike Mistovich) in during his 4 year career at Aggieland.
I watched the game when it was on television. Goff was known for his ball security, very few turnovers, and many assists during his time. The team was different after he graduated.
