First of all the Hogs were very lucky to pull this one out. Kingsley was held to one rebound until the final minutes. Kudos to A&Ms bigs. The luck- Watkins and Kingsley who almost never attempt a 3 went 4-4. The speed- A&M built a nice lead early only to see the Hogs get it back to 2 at the half. A&M built a 12 point lead again in the second, Hogs get back in it late and win with some VERY unlikely threes at the end. A&M is long on talent with big men. Lacking with speed in its depth. The bigs played very well but wilted at the end of both halves. That can look like lack of hustle and desire. Its not! If your trying to run the floor with guys who are a step quicker than you expect to expend a lot of energy. Until these two programs get the right pair of guards and truely turn the corner, we have best coaches were going to get.

Those teams have the guard depth I'm talking about. If the Hogs keep Allen and Monk at home we win last night by 30. We don't have anything close to those two.

Not making excuses for either team. Just pointing out the glaring weekness for both teams. Kingsley, the so called pre season POY isn't even the 10th best in the league because his guards can't get him the ball when and where he needs it. With A&Ms bigs they would kill everyone with better guards.

A&M didn't lose because of a short bench. Now you may leave

Hampton and Collins do not. Everyone else is fine.


That leads to an obvious conclusion.

Gonzaga isn't usually fast and neither is SFA. They scrap and they hustle and have fire though and they value the basketball.

Playing slow the BK was has rarely led to a good offense but we should definitely keep doing it.

At least with Turgeon and BCG our slow offenses had less TOs and ended in shots.
