Don't go. The only way to get tamu from scheduling these types of games is for the fans not to show up. I Understand to get teams to come to reed sometimes you have to schedule softer teans but there is a point where it gets to be so bad that it's not worth going to see the game.

Serious question: Why is this game on the schedule? Could understand if this was an exhibition game or
on the schedule as one of first two games. And on a December night that not so incidentally is cold. Free tickets may be hard to give away for this one. This one should qualify for "free" parking at Reed. Announced attendance will IMO be far more than attendance. I hold two season tics. Not a good value!

They are on the schedule for the same reason they are on Wichita State, Clemson, Syracuse, South Carolina, and Miami's schedule. scrimmage filler and allows little programs to make some money.

In the 130-140 range of RPI, we have William and Mary, Georgia State, Loyola-Chicago, Central Michigan, and Arkansas Little Rock, UNC Asheville etc.. I have a hard time believing those games sell any more tickets than South Carolina State.

....and the not going to games part worked itself out a long time ago. It doesn't seem to have caused anyone to schedule the entire Top 25.

You are correct to some degree. But there would absolutely be more interest on a Saturday playing Old Southwest Conference foes then South Carolina state. Beating rice or Texas Tech would still be way more interesting to most fans than who were playing today.

"The reason is that others do it." That's not much of a reason. Maybe a good reason not to do it is that IMO the attendance (not announced attendance) will be light. To put up with the announcer and DJ Mike is hard enough with a competitive match-up. No offense to SCS--just that it will be a mismatch and an easy win with lots of substitutions. And, oh, it's to be televised on the SEC network. I could be wrong but this one to me has no appeal. So be it.
