I bought a frozen Turkey, I think it was just over 16 pounds and put it in the fridge last Friday. But, my family had to leave town and will return on Saturday. Will it be safe to cook/smoke on Saturday?

I've read online and seems like it may not be. Just looking for first-hand experiences.

Based on my experience, a frozen turkey that size placed in the fridge and unmolested will probably take 4-5 days just to thaw out. So maybe 3 or 4 days in the fridge thawed, I'd cook it with no reservations.

Edit: But that's me, if you don't feel comfortable toss it and go buy another.

For clarity, what day do you mean by "last Friday"? 11/18 ?

and what day do you mean by "Saturday" ? 11/26 ?

Yes, exactly. Apologies for the ambiguity.

U are good to go. They are frozen and sold commercially all year long.
