We love these but our local grocery stores (HEB, Randalls, Aldi) haven't carried them for a good while. Anyone know where you can find these?

2.49/lb vs 1.49/lb for sweet onions at my local Kroger but 1015s are good. Not sure why they aren't seen in stores much anymore.

I probably should do this with pm but here it goes

I plant about 24 bunches every year of 1015
Reds
Yellows

I plant Novemebr 15th

I make a row and cut the tops off and plant all the way from where the white turns green

I ferlize i think with 42-0-0 about every two weeks

I water probably every two weeks until february

Start pulling dirt away about march and never water again

But not all onions make it and not all are big enough to mess with and some do not even start to act like they want to grow

Here is the question. How can I make onions grow better

Why do they have such a strange name? I trust the people on this forum regarding quality, and I'm going to either buy them locally here in OKC if I can, or order them online.

ETA. I discovered why they are named. Sorry to waste anyone's time in that department. I will definitely be seeking these out because I am a HUGE onion fan.

For anyone else reading this, I believe they are named 1015 because they should be planted on or around October 15th.

October in the Valley and mid April in the Panhandle.

My fathers farm was used for a second planting each year during development.
