HEB has yellow tag coupons next to the red foil wrapped HEB brand hams, $20 off. We found two for ~$23 each and put two hams in the freezer for $6 total.

Go get em!!!

I'm not saying you have to wait for the holidays, though vacuum sealed and in the freezer I'd imagine it's fine.

But for $3 you could also just do it for a Sunday dinner.

Just the wife and me here. We usually do one for Sunday with a ton of sides and eat on during the week after the holidays when hams go on sale. Great way to eat cheaply but enjoyably

Went the local HEB and they had the $20 off coupon for the red foiled spirals but they were all $2.99/lb and in the $39 to $42 range before coupon. The hill country fair brand spirals had a $5 off coupon, were$1.99/lb and in the $19 to $23 range. Yall sure yall didn't sneak a $20 coupon in with a $23 HCF ham ?

My store had some more yesterday, but they were all 10 pounds plus. I like ham, but not that much, and that's a lot of ham for just my wife and I to go through.

We freeze the leftover in appropriate portions and sous vide to heat up. We will do this with a turkey we got on sale, and a brisket that we have in the freezer too.
