As much as I really like authentic and fresh salsas, I just don't go through it fast enough to usually justify making my own. By some glitch in the matrix, I actually like Pace medium picante, but I'd like to branch out. The shelves at H-E-B have tons of options, but some recommendations would be appreciated, and no, I'm not looking for something just like Pace.

Idea stolen from the BBQ sauce thread.

In refrigerated section Julio's. We switched from Pace for a change. Haven't gone back yet. Give it a try.
Edit- at HEBs
Good Day.

I'm weird. I think Pace with Frito's is incredible but I don't like it very much with any other brand of chips.

So it's not salsa but I guess this is as good a place as any to mention it...

Anyone had Yellowbird Serrano Hot Sauce yet?

This is my new obsession. Get it.

If I'm in a pinch and I can't make some I'm a fan of Mrs Renfros smokey roasted salsa. When I lived in Texas I remember places like HEB having pretty decent stuff in the refrigerated section.

For red salsa, another vote for Mark's. I like the Hot version the best.

For green I really like the HEB Specialty Green Chile Tomatillo. I also like the flavor of Herdez, but I wish it were spicier.

Mateo's by far is the best I have had as far as store bought, I prefer the spicy over the mild. This is the closest I can find to homemade.

Man I went through so many bottles when it came out in 2014 or so. I took some time off but just bought a bottle of the Serrano the other day and of course I'm now putting it on turkey sandwiches and everything in between. It's legit.

Both HEB's "That Red" and "That Green" are great.

My latest favorite is Dan & Emilio's Tex Mex Slow Roasted.

I also frequent Julio's, Joe T. Garcia's, Kylito, Mateo's.

I picked up some Herdez Habanero Street Salsa (in the squirt bottle) recently for eggs. Pretty solid.

That stuff is crack.
I've also been known to buy the salsa by the pint at Lopez Mexican Restaurant in Houston and can it myself.
