My two favorite places when I visited last were Jagged Mountain for beer and City 'O City for food. Also, there's a SuperTarget with a mountain view I'm extremely jealous of.

Assuming downtown.

Breweries: Cerebral, River North, Our Mutual Friend, Bierstadt Lagerhaus, Woods Boss, Dos Luces is a new place with a great concept

Taprooms: Falling Rock, First Draft, Star Bar

Bourbon spots:Finns Manor, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Williams and Graham (very cool speakeasy), Pints pub for scotch

Beer-centric Restaurants: Freshcraft, Euclid Hall, Asbury Provisions, Hops & Pie

Bourbon-centric Restaurants: Colt & Gray, Hearth & Dram, Citizen Rail

Great divide - Get the Yeti

Union Lodge #1 get anything, its a pre-prohibition bar that has a great selection of hard to find bourbon.

Restaurant
El Five probably need a reservation, but you can always try the bar. Great tapas and paella with a killer view of the city.
