Heading to Chicago for a short 4 day trip in a couple of weeks. Only been 1 other time, and we were only there for a couple of days for the Chicago Marathon. I know about Gino's, but I would appreciate some recommendations. I am open to anything, and we are pretty adventurous. Love Italian and anything Asian.

What beers to get in Chicago that can't be had in Texas?
Not sure what you can't get in TX, but my favorite local brewers are Pipeworks, Three Floyds, Maplewood, Half Acre, Local Option, Begyle, Off Color, and Illuminated.

For the other stuff. IIRC there are better places than Gino's for Chicago deep dish "pizza". There are some really good Greek places in Chicago. The American version of Saganaki (flaming cheese appetizer) was invented in Chicago.

Just to add one that our friends took us to. http://www.parsonschickenandfish.com/ and it was pretty amazing. Very laid back hipster parent vibe (we had kids in tow). Food was great

They do occasionally post available seats on social media for same day or next day reservations.

You can also usually buy them on secondary market.
I think people post on their FB of reservations they need to unload

I try to caution people that while Girl and the Goat is really good, Little Goat is not. The food there was really bland across 4 dishes.
Duck Duck Goat definitely doesn't skimp on the spices.

It's solid, but I'd put Spiaggia above it. Because I love Italian food. It's still great though.

Good to know. I usually try to make it up annually there for a weekend or two of gluttony but just haven't made it recently. All these spot on suggestions have got me itching to go back.

Probably so. We are on the waiting list for all but 1 night. Reservations at Spiaggia for that night.
Giant is awesome, I highly recommend
Pizzeria Uno downtown on E Ohio St. (Which is NOT the same as Uno's Pizza).
