I need to buy tequila, nothing cheap. Looking for one that is good for making margs or my new favorite paloma. Also a suggestion for a good sipping tequila.

El Jimador is just fine for mixing. Don't spend your money on tequila that will be used for mixing. All of the complexities get lost in the sugar and fruit.

My sipper right now is Los Cazadores extra anejo. If Dos Artes ever gets distributed to Texas, I'm buying all of it.

Go to for margs is Don Julio or Fortaleza silver.

Sipper would be Casa Dragones Blanco or Sipping ($$) or Clase Azul Reposado.

Check out the Distiller app. It's been great to find some new ones to try.

Go with Don Julio for both. Blanco for your cocktails and Don Julio 1942 for sipping.

You won't be disappointed.

But whatever you go with, make sure your Blanco is 100% agave. Very important.

My favorite tequila for mixing is Casa Noble silver. Don't get any anejo tequila for mixing, or you're wasting your money. Its like mixing a nice bourbon with coke. My favorite sipping tequila is Don Julio 1942, but it ain't cheap. Casa Noble anejo is a good sipping tequila. An interesting one to try is Codigo Rosa. It's a pink tequila that is aged in wine barrels. Its good for mixing.

Don Julio 70 is also excellent.

Casa Noble Anejo...and it's not sacrilege to make a margarita with it assuming your using fresh lime and agave nectar. Best f***ing margaritas ever.

What is a good tequila, similar to silver patron, that doesn't cost as much as patron.

TIA

Casamigos is worth the hype (and the cost if you really do want high-quality), imo

DJ 1942 is a good sipper and appeals to almost any palette.

Casamigos has a vanilla after taste. It's garbage and I know I'm a man. I'm 40 years old. Don Julio 1942, clase azul, herradera, or Milagros. In that order for price and how tasty.
