I'm curious if anyone on here has had any luck making wine from anything other than mustang grapes. I have never made wine myself but have access to mustang grapes, which is what the Czech side of the family recipe calls for. Basically I'm wanting to try to make wine, but would like try to make a dew berry, strawberry, or watermelon wine and want to know if anyone has had luck trying anything like this. Dew berries grow can easily be found as well as mustang grapes. I rarely drink homemade wine but think it would be enjoyable and cool to make.
The Luling area grows some really good watermelons, I also have acccess to homegrown strawberries and cantaloupe.
I'm not asking for recipes, I'm just asking if it's possible for a first time wine maker to make wine that is worth drinking if you're not going with mustang grapes which is pretty much all anyone I know makes.
