Let's say you're planning a party for 50 people. What would be the acceptable beer:person ratio? What about liquor:person? Talking normal people here, not the "I can kill a case of Natty in my underwear watching Jerry Springer type of crowd"

Not saying I followed the advice, that's just what the people at spec's suggested
That's because Spec's isn't going to suggest an amount of alcohol that would allow the party attendees to get completely trashed. Likewise, neither should you.
Of the 50, how many Czechs or Germans? Since you said "normal people" I am assuming none?
