1. Endeavor.

While I respect the hell out of SA, I never cared for the rest of their beers.

When you take classes for how to judge beer, Lawnmower is the top choice for the Kolsch style. It is fantastic.

I also like:

1) Sailing Santas
2) Winter stout (RIP)
3) Endeavor (I usually buy Homefront though. Cool think Brock does).
4) Boiler room
5) Krystal Wiesen (RIP)

I feel the same way.

Is it me or do the majority of their beers all seem to taste the same. My favorites have all been in the Icon series. As well as 5 o'clock pils

I was going to agree if you said karbach. SA is all pretty different.

You take classes so that means your opinion is the gold standard? Did you sign up on Groupon?

I think it's their house yeast that gives that same flavor to a lot of their beers. Several years ago when they did those experiments with different yeasts in otherwise the same recipe (which is where weedwhacker came out of), I remember that flavor not being there in the ones with different yeast.

Base malts also make up a large portion of a breweries flavor. They have their 2 or 3 base malts and are likely used in every beer, and it can be up to 70-80% or more of the grain bill.
