Has anyone here attended the Foodways BBQ camp that is hosted in College Station? I heard some fantastic feedback about the camp, but not sure if that feedback was focused on the Camp Brisket or Broader BBQ camp.

I could go to the BBQ camp, but I would like to learn about the secrets to making great BBQ and would think this would center on techniques. Does the BBQ camp offer this or just a more intro to BBQ styles curriculum?

Should I just hold out for Camp Brisket?

BBQ camp was awesome last year, great panels and discussions plus fun social events at night. Really enjoyed the butchering demos

This. You can always try for Camp Brisket down the road but take BBQ Camp if it's in hand.

Glad to hear the good feedback. I was drawn for the June BBQ Camp and just registered yesterday. Looking forward to it!

Dr. Savell, Ray, Davey and Christine are all great. The BBQ Panel was Joe Riscky (Risck's), Russell Roegel (Roegels), Greg Gatlin (Gatlin's), Brian Bracewell (Southside Market) and a guy from Pitt's and Spitts. I would suggest refraining from BBQ for 3 weeks prior, then gorging on Franklin's youtube videos the night before to adequately prepare for the amount of BBQ you will eat.
