Do yourself a favor and get them next time you have a chance.....best beef fajitas you will pull off your grill.

Been cooking them for about a year now and have been told the same thing everytime somone new comes over.

Obviously best over charcoal or Big Green Egg if you have one.

Freakin' awesome, we grill 'em all the time, both as fajitas and carne asada. Highly recommend!

I tried to make my own version of that marinade one time but got a little overzealous with the habanero, suffice to say they would have been good fodder for "Heatseekers", heh.

They make the same marinade for chicken and pork tenderloin.....both are good but not on same level as the steak IMO.

Ihaven't lived near a Central Market in 3 years, but I remember liking their fajita flavoring.

On a somewhat related note, I never understood the large amount of people that like the pre-marinated HEB fajitas.

Because they are among the best prepackaged fajitas you can buy. I've found that if you're lazy and don't feel like marinating your own fajitas HEBs will do just fine.

$14/lb choice NY Strip? Dude, you need to hit up HEB more often. I see $9.99/lb Prime NY Strip pretty often, and the same for Prime Ribeye as well.

Well, this was at Whole Paycheck, and I wasn't cooking for myself.

The taste is bad, and the quality of the meat seems sub-par. Believe me, I know plenty of Texans that rave about them. But I can't recall having worse fajitas.

The fajitas I'll have from Costco tonight (with the Pappasito's pineapple/soy marinade) destroy the HEB fajitas.

HEB just had their prime ribeyes for $7.99/lb. I went and bought a whole ribeye. Got 20 steaks for $120. Vacuum sealed them and we will be enjoying them for a while

If you're going to go all Anthony Bourdain food snob on me, at least use an example from something more highbrow than Costco. Christ, that's one step above Wal-Mart branded food.

Belton, the Costco fajitas he is referring to aren't pre-packaged. It's the loin flap meat that is superior in every way to skirt steak for fajitas. Costco beef is in general is far better than HEB and light years more palatable than Wal Mart beef

HEB pre-marinated fajitas suck ass

Relax, people. I was just joking, hence the winky face. I'm not sure why anyone would want to compare prepackaged stuff to non prepackaged, anyway. Since there is no Costco in Aggieland - and I'm not going to drive Houston to go to a friggin Costco - I've never had the fajitas; but If I'm looking to a superior quality of beef, I'm not going to Wal-Mart or HEB anyway. I'm going to Readfield's in Bryan or La Michoacana for fajitas. I'm fairly sure that HEB wouldn't sell the prepackaged fajitas if they "sucked ass," as no one would purchase them.

Just to see what the fuss was about, I picked up some of the orange honey habanero fajitas today. Honestly they were pretty damn good.

Oddly enough, I really don't like pre marinated fajitas. Lightly seasoned, then brushed with some cilantro and lime juice is just fine.

if you're using a good skirt steak, it doesn't matter too much what you do to it

I've done complicated marinades to throwin' a little Bolner's on it about half an hour before cooking and squeezing a little lime on it as it's cooking and had great results both ways

Doing the prep yourself is part of the enjoyment of cooking though

If you can get real outside skirt steak, that is not true. That's why the Japanese buy 90% of everything the US produces.

Well the skirt also is categorized as offal for tariff purposes.

skirt steak is fajitas

if you're using loin flap, what you have are grilled loin flap tacos

not that that is a bad thing, it's just not fajitas

The crazy thing about food is that it tastes slightly different to everyone. I like HEB fajitas. They are not the best in the world but good enough to keep in freezer in case the fiance and I want them one night. I also like throwing it on salads, and the pre prepared makes it easy.

the HEB marinated fajitas are pretty good

the hill country fare marinated fajitas taste like dog food
