I agree with the small batch select. For me. The SBBS vary wildly. But the limited Releases I have tried are something special.

Small batch select is up there with the best of bottles, regardless of price point.

That's the point. You get to try different recipes and contrast and compare them across yeast stains and mashbills (high and low rye). I love it.

I currently have an OBSO open that I got from the distillery in April. I think it's 10yr 1 month if I'm remembering correctly. It's one of, if not the best bourbon I've drank in the last year. It's very rich and fruity with a fantastic mouth feel and finish. Luckily my wife was with me and I've got a backup bottle for sometime in the future.

Never was able to find the special release JD Rye, but visiting the in-laws in the Austin area this weekend and stumbled across the new JDSBBP. I know it should be on the shelf fairly normally soon enough, but was itching to try this one when it was announced.
