I cracked a Stagg 22B this week as well. I thought it was very solid, although it seems that opinions vary a fair amount on this batch. I really do not do secondary, but I would buy again at retail for sure.

I have been a Huge Stagg Jr fan. I was so pumped to get the 22B. I find it just awful. Lots of chemical taste. The finish is good but I would pour it out if I was not sampling it out to friends.

The only one I have to compare with is the Batch 15. I think it's (Batch 19 22b) solid for my taste, but I'll need to do a side by side to see how it really compares (as opposed to just going off of memory lol).

Last year I got to be part of a 10 sample blind for SJR batches 9-17 + 1 store pick. Definitely some stinker batches when comparing them head to head, and for me only 2 batches scored objectively well.

Blind tasting is absolutely the best way to learn what you like, and to stay away from hype bottles

I have had two different store pics. 135 and 137 proofs. Both are very good , IMO

We did something similar in one of my groups.
Batches 9 through 18 and one store pick.

9, 12 and 15 were absolute standouts

Honestly when I'm not doing blinds, I love that 13 so much. So many people slept on it because it was "low proof". But man, it's such a good pour.

These are the standouts for me as well. 9 is my favorite bourbon ever. 12 and 15 and fantastic. 17 was also pretty good
