I just cracked mine. Super disappointed. I am hoping my palette is just off today. Got 80% barrel char. Like licking the barrel. (Trade it)

Stagg has really fallen off since batch 14/15.

16 was awful. 17 was solid oak. Latest was thin.

Wow. 150 for EHT Small Batch is just ****ing nuts. On the other hand for 70 bucks its going to be a lot better than a ton of stuff on the shelf at similar prices these days. Thats not a bad deal at all.

Nice score. I feel even luckier for getting mine last week for $45, I think it was.

It was retail. I just can't remember how much exactly I paid. Found it at Specs. They had a couple Eagle Rare bottles for under $30 but since they were both allocated I could only get one. Went back the next day but the ER was gone.

ER for under $30 is awesome. Can't beat it.

It was $45 at Spec's and someone posted that Blanton's is now $75 at Spec's. So if Spec's is above retail, where do we find true retail?

For instance at Fort Hood, Blanton's is $54, ER for $25 and Bookers for $66

At Twins, Bookers is well over a $100 now.

Total Wine, Specs and Twins all have varying retail prices

The WB Pappy & BTAC auction closes today at 1PM for any of yall in Central Texas. Gotta pick it up in SA. Flights 2, 4 & 6 are the best value IMO for anyone with some deep pockets.

Something was going on earlier in the auction with some nefarious bids. It appears that many of the lots have had bids removed (at one point most bids ended in "666").

Hey, this bourbon market is the definition of "get it how you live".

You can pay as little or as much as you for bourbon.

While it is a good cause, It kind of sucks for the person who wins given the way the auction is set up. Being that it is WB doing to auction and not the Charity, WB will get the tax break and not the person who wins.

If WB would have donated the bottles and the charity held the auction then the winner would get a deduction of the winning bid - value of the bottle. That would be a bit tricky depending on how the bottles were valued but this way WB gets to just write a check (im sure they are subtracting their costs from it) from the winnings and realize the full deduction.

Outside of control states pretty much. Mom & Pop stores will typically have the most markup and the big chains will tend to be more towards MSRP.

I wouldn't fret over paying too much. If that is your only option and it was for a good occasion, it can be worth it.

Kim Liquor on Yale right before 610 as well. Dude is inadvertently creating a collection of dusties last time I was in there. Had Blantons for ~$150 and ER for $100. Think he has a 750 of W12 for $325 too
