Someone in Central Texas just trade their EHT SIB plus Eagle Rare for W12 a few mins ago.

This is fascinating to watch

Then I have a lot of W12 I need to unload.

Wow......A W12 plus EHT SiB was traded for WFP SP.

I'm done looking at all this craziness for the evening .

I'll be headed up through CO next week, here's to hoping I find something to bring home.

Headed to New Mexico with the wife and in-laws. Anyone know if I'd be more likely to find anything up there than here in Texas?

depends on where I would imagine. Hobbs, Carlsbad, roswell maybe. Cruces, albuquerque, Santa fe more likely. Ruidoso, cloudcroft, Espanola doubtful

Where you heading to in Colorado? I may be able to provide a few recommendations.

Whitmeyer's any good? Know they had a decent following but haven't paid much attention the last several years. Just saw they took over the old buffalo bayou brewery space for their tasting room, which is about a 90 second walk from my house.

If it's half decent would still be a cool place to walk over to and have a sip or an old fashioned.

Just cracked open a 9yr SAOS single barrel cask strength. Got it back in 14-16 timeframe from a liquor store in Louisiana. Forget exactly when. But it is D lishus.

Picked up on the way home. Also grabbed an SAOS store pick and Penelope BS.

Ok won't be much help there. Was in Telluride earlier in the year but no luck. Grand Junction had a good spot on the way from Denver.

Most gas stations have liquor stores. We popped into several while hunting Elk and found some good bottles.

I have a store pick of their single malt that tastes like a tootsie roll pop. It's great. I've tried a different single barrel single malt that a buddy had and also their bourbon & rye. All very good.

As a red blooded Texan, I will happily place any Texas bourbon on the bottom of my drink list..what you are witnessing is prideful Texans unable to admit how bad this Texas product is.

I would agree with the exception of their single malt. That is legit IMO. The rest is pretty poor.

Greetings, just got into allocated and hard to find bourbons about 4 months ago.

I ended up with a connection at a local store that pulled my name in the lottery fairly regularly, and started giving me tips on what was coming win and to decide when I wanted to win. I told them, "You tell me".

A couple months later, they don't even have to "draw my name" to get Blanton's, Eagle Rare, MKH 10, etc. if they have it. The connect will just escort me back. Anyhow, reading this, it seems I've got a nice small collection and WONDERFUL connection on my hands... in that time frame, I've managed to score (at retail):

EHT SB, 5X Blanton's, W107, W12, WFP, ETL (x2 in the SAME week, let my wife buy a bottle under her number! Really good stuff, may be my all time favorite so far, the second bottle may be unopened until I see another), some other less hard to find stuff, HH BIB, Bookers, Eagle Rare, etc.

I'm hoping to keep this going, as I'm alerted the week before what's there, and if it's something special, I'm about the first in the door, with a guaranteed lottery draw. Connect claims they enjoy that I'm not hunting for resale as so many do.

Hope to keep up with the thread and enjoyed reading the last few pages, just thought I'd share. Pretty stoked to see some of the things I have trading at such prices.
