I have a buddy who is looking for a bottle of Elmer T Lee for his dad. It's made by the Buffalo Trace group. I found 1 bottle that the small store had marked up to 199. This stuff normally retails for around 50.

Any one have any leads on a bottle in the DFW area? Or tips on how to find one at market value. The stores like Total Wine and Goody Goody can't give me an idea when a bottle will come in from their distributor.
If your buddy wants ETL at retail for his dad he is going to have to put in the work of establishing connections, waiting for the drops and doing his homework.

If he doesn't have the time to do all that, then that 199 ETL is looking mighty good considering the secondary is 275-330.

Thanks for the Info everyone. I'll pass it along. Knew y'all would know.

I'm not a whiskey snob in the slightest but somehow found myself here and had no idea there was such a unique market for this stuff.

I was talking about this earlier with a couple guys. $150 for SJr is what we all say but no one is letting one go for that. $200 trade value is more realistic and enough people like to drink it even that is tough on a trade. Not many people willing to let a Stagg go for a EHT SMB and a OWA.

Batch 12 is ~380
Batch 13 is ~230
Batch 14 is ~180-220
Batch 15 is in stores now, don't pay secondary, just hunt it.

Anything older than batch 12 is probably >400

Jesus it seems like 6 months ago you could score B12 for 200 and anything else for 120-150

I wonder what's gone up more percentage wise in 2021:

natural gas
crude oil
Stagg Jr
EHT BP
W12?

If you got one, know it's worth before you go trading it for something lesser.

Is there a spreadsheet somewhere where one can go and look up current value for their top shelf collection?

A good source for MSRP, fair price, and shelf price is BoozApp. It even lets you record your purchases and tells you the current fair value of your collection.

Is that pretty accurate, or are secondary prices more regional?

I believe that it is taken as an average across the U.S. From what I have experienced going to stores like Specs and mom and pop's, it seems pretty accurate. I even tested it yesterday against a local price gouger and it lined up with the shelf price.

So it's just been too hot for sippin on good bourbon.

I've taken to filling a glass with pellet ice, few shakes of bitters, and a hefty pour of WT101.

You?

Damn fine drink. Been doing the same of late as well. Finished the 101 so it's been mostly Old Forester 100 this week.

Do you have a pellet ice maker or do you buy it? I want an Opal so badly but haven't been able to pull the trigger.

My bourbon consumption decreases drastically in the summer. I'm in sipping tequila or ranch water mood this time of year.

I'm usually drinking palomas or mules this time of year but I recently made an old fashioned with peach bitters and agave

Yes, Previous owners put in one of them fancy Hozizackis or whatever they are called.

My dad has a GE counter top version you have to fill with water. Makes good ice though. About $500

FYI Sonic and CFA both sell their ice by the baggreat for parties.

Easy Summer bourbon drinks I do, in lieu of beers:

Ice, Lemonade (usually a diet/light), Bourbon
Ice, Soda Water, Bourbon

All day. Especially in a pool. Can't go wrong. Delicious, not filling, not heavy. Super refreshing.

Outside of TX, atleast. Last week TX folks were trading it for Stagg Jr. batch 15, but W12 isn't as rare around here either.
