Had a great time at Disney World with the family. Got to enjoy this Disney pick throughout the week!

Sadly they're getting harder to find. Haven't seen one in the wild in a while.

I haven't tried it personally, but everything I've read says it's not great and way over priced.

I have and as stated above it is good but not great and not worth the cost.

I don't know which Olde St Nick I tried, but it was weak and extremely overpriced.

They had this bottle in the Coronado Springs Gift shop with the other booze. They do sell pours samples at the polite pig in Disney Springs.

Pretty much. Although the Laguna Madre traded for a GTS '19 recently.

The person who wanted Laguna Madre is what one would call a mark unless they're only in it for resale potential of other marks.

I need a Mark. I found a single barrel that I'm not sure where I got it. Bottle 1 of 9 @ 142.4 proof.

8 year, cut down Texas bourbon!

for a 15 year uncut unfiltered Kentucky barrel proof

......I can swallow my Texas pride on ever wanting to do that deal. But I've seen it happen multiple times....crazy.

Anyone tried the Old Carter batch 9 bourbon or the batch 6 American whiskey?

I have no idea what the old Carter I tried in Kentucky was, but it was insanely good! Want to say it was a rye from awhile back, they had just a little if it left at Justin's house of bourbon and he actually poured the last of it for me.

I don't what the rest of their line is like, but another couple we met in Kentucky really enjoys their stuff and was big time talking it up

Not much of a bourbon guy, but my wife accidentally purchased Bulleit 10 year Bourbon instead of the Rye, so it seemed too good to make into an old-fashioned.

It's really good. But the Armida is better. Bother are 100% unique and worth every penny

Just bought a bottle today. I'll take a (poor) stab at a review.

Nose: rye spice opens up to some dark fruit, maybe plum or grapes or something? (After circling back here it's probably apricot from one of the finishes in apricot brandy). There's some lemon/citrus in there from the rye. Some whiffs have a good amount of that ester funk from the Jamaican rum. I tried a funky rum for the first time a month or two ago, otherwise I'd have had no idea what that was. I sat there and sniffed this sucker forever. There's so much going on.

Palate: First sip is rye spice followed by those fruit notes, just like the nose started. Maybe a little more tropical fruit than the nose was? After that first sip the fruit is more prevalent than the spice. Got a nice fruity sweetness to it (without being overly sweet) that works great next to that rye pepper. Some molasses in there with a little of that rum funk. Towards the end of it I started to get some pear, maybe. Definitely a pour that evolves over the course of drinking it.

Finish: Honestly I never know what to say here other what what I've already found on the nose/palate. Being higher proof rye, it's obviously got that spicy rye finish that builds and builds. Some of those same fruit notes. Probably a little more floral on the finish. Then that rum funk definitely shows up as well.

Overall I really enjoy it. Call it 8/10. Completely different flavor profile, but it's similar to Barrell Dovetail (which I love) in that it seems like something that you could find something new in every time you try it. There's a lot going on - in a good way. Not something I'll drink very regularly (mostly due to the price), but it's definitely something I'll grab to share with people since it's a such a unique experience.

Went to Kentucky last weekend to help with a couple picks. That place is incredible. The peerless distillery was amazing. Impossibly clean. Came home with a nice little haul too. Not cheap, but I could have spent so much more. I'll probably flip a couple bottles, but who knows. I ended up with:

Old Fitz 16
Parker's Heritage Orange Curacao
4R OESK distillery pick
Old Forester SiB distillery pick
Old Forester President's choice
Old Ezra Distiller's Collection
A couple Peerless distillery picks
2 New Riff SiB from Justin's
Nulu pick from Justin's
Nulu pick from the Bourbon Society
Liquor Barn Hancock's Reserve pick
Maybe a couple more that I'm blanking on

Justin's House of Bourbon is incredible. I got to try a 1970 old Fitz, and a side by side 1976 and 1983 wild turkey. That place is insane. And the bartender is a smoke show

I've never tried Barrell but heard great things, especially the Armida

IIRC, they don't distill anything on their own, they source and blend and finish in different casks?

Did she try to bet y'all that she could do something you couldn't? Proceeded to do a headstand on one of the barstools and hold it for like 20 seconds. I conceded. This was toward/after closing time and they definitely drink on the job haha

No idea if it's rare or you can find it everywhere but I just found a bottle of Old Forester 1870 Original Batch in my bar. Had no idea I had it. Stopped keeping up with bourbon a few years back but I'm guessing its the best one I have by default at this point.
