You're not the only one who has been drinking bourbon for more than 10 years.
It was $50+ still 10 years ago and in that fancy wooden box.

I want to get a nice bottle of rye for a buddy who loves to make old fashions. While I enjoy bourbon, I never make cocktails, so I need some help picking out the rye. I asked his wife and she had no clue what he likes. Any help would be appreciated. Just let me know if I need to move this to the cocktail thread.
Price - Lets keep it under $75.
TIA

Yeah, my favorite rye for an old fashioned is Rittenhouse. It's maybe $25? I wouldn't mess with a super expensive rye for mixing.
How does it compare to, say, Rittenhouse or Pikesville?CharlieBrown17 said:
Grabbed some EC rye this weekend and just trying a glass now.
It's fine. A little sweeter than I like in a rye but otherwise forgettable

Did they have that ETL just sitting on the shelf?
Nope, it was a hole in the wall store in Ruston. Went down the street and found a handle of baby Saz, and it is hard to find in Arkansas. Found an ECBP a121 a few weekends ago in Vicksburg, MS. They did have Weller green for $129 as well.MW03 said:
Are you in a liquor store in New Orleans near Hot Tin on St. Charles? Cause if so, it's been there in the same spot at least 2 years.

Bardstown Fusion series. Anyone tried? Compared to Discovery?

Honestly, the Fusion is not as good as some other $50 bottles.
