Ok talked to my store contact - He wants me to write a proposal for the owners. I have a rough bottle count but what I really need to know is our preference on picks.
One of the owners of this store already travels to KY and will soon to make some other picks. I am trying to find a way for 3-5 of us on here to be able to get samples (mailed from the distillery) and pick that way....
Weller Full Proof is extremely hard to pick so if someone has an in or suggestion please PM me. I think that is the number one choice, but we need to determine 2-4. Since it appears we have interest in up to two barrels, please select from the following - (or feel free to add another suggestion). These are my preferences...
1) Russells Reserve Pick
2) Old Forester Single Barrel High Proof pick
3) Woodford Double Oaked Pick
I do believe Beam has stopped their Knob Creek Picks...
If someone can create a poll and link it with the above and other picks, that would be great.

I went looking for some old pictures he's posted to one of the FB groups. From what I remember he had shelves full of WFE, MMPS picks, and Jester King beers.
It would be cool if you could loop in Texags' media wing and somehow document the whole thing. I think their production studio is trying to branch out. Bourbon is obviously a hot topic. The process of making a store pick selection would probably be interesting as a short piece (<10 mins).
I think the Old Forster single barrel pick would be nice
I'd be happy with an EC, OF, MMPS, or even a WP10 if we could get into their 13 yo MGP stash.
EC is proofed too much after the selection. Defeats the purpose.

Take Weller full proof off. I think the assumption is if that's possible that would be the pick. I dont think it's possible. FWIW a bar owner I know who does lots of barrels told me last year BT wanted $30k for a barrel of antique if I remember right.

Blanton's and EHT are harder to find but not as good as plenty of other bourbons.
