Where's the fun in that? My wife loves Blanton's and my sister enjoys it as well. Gateway to other bourbon. But I did catch my wife mixing a mid-grade bourbon with ginger beer last night. She didn't understand why I was irked at mixing a $70 (retail) bottle with ginger wasn't a good idea.

This isn't as bad as the roommate I caught years go mixing Van Winkle Rye into a BBQ sauce he was making because he wanted to call it "Pappy's Secret Sauce".

Hey Ags, my office is doing our annual silent auction and fundraiser for Texas Children's Hospital. This year I'm offering a 2015 OFBB. Entries are $10/each with the drawing being held Monday December 4th. You can pay via paypal at mike at mike schroeder team dot com. All these people with WLW makes me sad. Got a GTS I'd trade! If the Jimbo deal goes through I'll be celebrating with that. Saw someone post prices in the $600s at a store or two around Houston. Unreal.

So here's my hunting laugh for the day. In California for work, stopped by a spot my client recommended as the best liquor store in town.

Here's what they had:

pappy van winkle 10 - 699

OWA - 99

WLW - 700

OFBB - 500

Fun to see some bottles in the wild, but not the price tags.

Same for the "rare" regular stuff. Blantons for $109, W12 1$00. Are they really secondary prices if the store is charging the same?
