While turfman was here I cooked a prime rib northern California style over oak and hickory. Paired the finished product with casey biere de Garde. The red wine barrel tannins and medium acidity paired perfectly.

The link says that Cantillon has given them permission to have zwanze day in October when they anticipate getting approval to sell Cantillon in Texas. May have to open one tonight to celebrate!

pretty cool that they're going to be in Texas now. Hopefully they show up there more often and in larger quantities than they do in Colorado

I can't tell from the blog post if that means they're getting the license covered so that the beer can be sold yearly at JK, or if the license will be used to import bottles for sale year round in Texas.

If it's the latter, I anticipate about a decade before a bottle actually makes it onto a shelf, since they'll be snapped up before leaving the back room.

I asked the guy at D&Q in Houston, who usually has the most JK in town, and he said it would be distributed to Austin and Houston-- mostly to JK though.
